Great place!! Super friendly and helpful, we took our 2 year old daughter and she loved it! We did the lake but should of done the river, the lake a was a bit busy and choppy but it was our choice to do the lake. I couldn't recommend it more!

We kayaked the Sturgeon River from Wolverine to Fisher Woods, which is known as the fastest white water in the lower peninsula. We decided to use BrassWinds Landing outfitters since they supplied us with LiquidLogic Remix XP10 kayaks. The kayaks have an integral skeg and it is a handy feature to stabilize the boat when you want to move fast and straight in open water. We received a brief kayaking lesson from our outfitter Lincoln at the park before our trip began. The boats maneuvered really well in the river around all of the corners, and they are very stable and made the trip a lot more enjoyable. This was the longest single trip we have taken and the seats in the boats are adjustable and provided lumbar support. We probably were on the water for better than four hours, but the time went by quickly and the river had a great flow. When we finished our trip we just called BrassWinds and Lincoln picked us up in 10 minutes, which was really nice since we didn't get out where we were supposed to. We are planning a trip back in the future and this is definitely one of the nicest rivers we have kayaked in Michigan.

I rented their SOT Liquid Logic Duce and used it as a single. You can move the rear seat to the center and it works great. My friend swam the Straits Of Mackinac and I was his spotter. We ended up with approx 3' to 4' rolling waves and the Duce was very stable and easy to maneuver. Sheri was my main contact and was a pleasure to work with. She made great and beneficial suggestions. Very friendly, well priced and absolutely stunning scenery. We rented two kayaks and did the river route. It was beautiful. We will hands down come back again and recommend this rental service to anybody looking to do some kayaking/canoeing. It was so easy to get to on our way back from St. Ignace.
