Was there today and launched our boat. Boat launch needs lots of work. Big pot holes at the top of the ramp. Not enough parking and docks to launch from. No trash barrels in the area to place your trash after cleaning up. They desperately need a lagoon to rest your boat. Water was black and mucky. Won't be back here to launch again.
Burt lake is warm compared to other lakes, shallow a long way out. Bring your inflatables to float and relax. Love it here.

You know that Kid Rock song, "All Summer Long"? The line about summertime in Northern Michigan? This is it for me. Burt Lake is clean, the beach here is great, the camp sites are well kept, and there is a great balance between shady lots under trees and sunny lots closer to the water. The Rangers there are helpful and friendly. The town of Indian River is small, but nice. For those further south in the Superior State, this is well worth the trip up!
7/14/17 UPDATE : Great campground especially for RVs. Lots of folks tent camp, or camp out of their SUVS too. Nice fire pits, quiet at night most of the time. (Barring some loud talkers around the campfires at night) Showers have plenty of hot water.
For being a busy labor day weekend it didn't feel like it here. Our site was pretty big and felt private. There was never much of a wait if there was one at all for the showers and restroom. There was plenty of hot water too. The beach on Burt lake was large and very nice with plenty to do.
Beautiful park! Our site was clean and large. Sandy ground with nice pines, water edge is easy to get to from camp sites. Restrooms were clean too. Had a large bicycling group in campground and for being packed it was quiet. Very relaxing place.
