Service is good. Rooms are a little out dated but a fun atmosphere to be in. I would recommend this place because it is located in a good spot and very affordable.
We were given the choice of two cottages. One had a screened porch overlooking the river, but the cottage had a very strong mildew smell. We choose the second cottage. It appeared to be clean except for the couch in the living room, which was black with filth. The first night we discovered that the toilet was not attached to the floor. Let me say that again – the toilet was NOT attached to the floor. It tipped side to side while in use. The next morning, we took cold showers. It was the second day that we found that we had to run the shower 20 minutes before it was warm enough to use. We started noticing strange things like: The back door to the motel was left wide open all night for the two nights that we stayed, which had to lend itself to critter and creature infestations. There were unfinished projects everywhere including a mossy ladder propped against the motel roof, buckets catching rain water that was overflowing from the roof which had no gutters, missing smoke alarms in the cottages, etc. We did not feel that it was worth $75 per night (in October, mind you), and we would not stay there again.
Very rustic, but a better alternative to "tenting" it. Nice location on the river and the cabins come with a lot of cooking supplies and utensils. Will definitely be back next year; out third year!
Love this place! We have stayed here many times and love the rustic cabins on the river. Its no Hilton but it is very unique and you won't find many places like it and the price is great.
You get what you pay for! These are rustic, dated, but clean cabins. It beats a tent and the view is nice
